Single simple accordion connection

The simple accordion connection is one of the most widely used types of accordion connection, which is widely used to relieve the stresses caused by thermal expansion in pipelines. Do you know how to connect an accordion?

Accordion joints, which are also known as expansion joints, are flexible elements that are often used in the field of piping. The purpose of using this equipment is to absorb longitudinal changes in industrial facilities. The aforementioned functional joints are installed in pipelines and absorb expansion and contraction changes caused by temperature, vibration, bending and deviation.

Simple accordion joints are divided into two categories: single simple accordion joints and single restrained accordion joints. In the following, we will introduce each of these equipments and examine them briefly.

single simple accordion connection; The simplest type of flexible connection

A single simple accordion joint, also known as a simple accordion joint, is the simplest yet most common type of flexible joint. This connection, which consists of a blouse, is connected to the two connecting pipes and the flange through welding.

A single simple accordion joint is able to repel normal movements in all directions at the same time. These equipments, which are a relatively cheap solution to compensate fluctuations caused by pipe temperature, do not cause any change in fluid flow and do not occupy much space. It should be noted that the use of these accordion and pipeline connections requires fixed rigid points, anchors and guides in order to deal with thrust force.

Single shunt accordion connector

Single-braced accordion joints consist of a cylinder and two bracing shafts. The difference between this connection and the simple single type is that in the restrained type, the stretching of the blouse is limited in the axial direction, or the thrust force is also controlled by these restraints.

If the shafts of the restraints in the structure of the restrained accordion connections are designed to withstand the thrust force of the system, there is no need for the main fixed rigid points. It should be noted that this type of connection is only able to repel angular or lateral movements.
