Elbow-type pressure regulating accordion connection

What is an accordion connection?

The elbow-type pressure adjusting accordion joint is one of the most practical types of accordion joints that are widely used in various fields. When it comes to fluid transfer by systems designed for this purpose, the occurrence of unwanted movements is undeniable. What causes these movements are factors such as temperature changes caused by fluid or environment, external factors such as wind and vibration of devices in the system. Failure to absorb these movements can become troublesome for the system and interfere with its performance. Therefore, it is necessary to absorb these movements by the existing equipment. You must be asking which equipment?

accordion joints; They are functional equipment that are used with the aim of absorbing the movements created in the piping lines and preventing their transmission to the existing devices. These connections are able to absorb axial, lateral and angular movements and withstand high temperature and pressure well.

The elbow type pressure adjusting accordion joint is one of those accordion joints that are commonly used in various fields. Are you familiar with this type of connection?

Elbow type pressure regulating accordion connection; A connection with great benefits

Elbow type pressure regulating accordion connection; It is one of those accordion fittings that are used at the end of the pipe path and at the place where the flow direction changes. These functional connections consist of three blouses, two of which are located in the flow path and the other one is responsible for balancing.

The connecting elbow is a piece that is placed exactly between the blouses of the flow path and the balancing blouse. Due to the existence of this part, the said connection is named as elbow type.

The connection harness is also located in the end parts of the connection, that is, right after all three blouses. When the flow path sleeves are compressed, the restraints in the connecting structure begin to apply force to the balancing sleeve and open it. On the opposite side, when the current blouses are stretched, the connecting harness starts to compress the balancing blouse. What emerges from this issue is that the axial spring coefficient of flow jackets and balancing jackets is the same.

The accordion connection of the elbow pressure regulator can be found in single form (with two sleeves) or in universal form (with three sleeves). The universal type of this connection is mainly used in order to avoid relatively large lateral movements. It should be noted that the absorption of lateral movements is the responsibility of flow blouses.

Advantages

The mentioned accordion fittings have a unique design. Due to the benefit of this design method, in addition to the extraordinary resistance to thrust force, the said connection can absorb this force and eliminate the need for sports and fixed points in the path of piping lines. Among the most important advantages of this type of connection, we can point out the balancing of the forces and torque resulting from the nozzle of the paths after the pump, turbine, etc. and adjusting these forces to an acceptable level.
